Sustainable Local Conservation...
AVCA is a local association dedicated to the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment around the Aman River Valley, around 25 miles from Cardiff in South Wales. This is achieved through a combination of hands-on volunteering and public awareness campaigns. As well as keeping the area clean, safe and well-maintained, AVCA works with local schools, churches and other local groups to encourage every member of the community to take care of and pride in their area.
Ultimately, AVCA aims to promote the following:
- Responsible and safe enjoyment of the River Aman
- Preservation of Rights of Way
- Respect for cultural and historical heritage
- Preservation of mature and ancient trees
- Good management of woodland to favour native species
- Protection and enhancement of biological diversity
- Minimising pollution in the environment
- Sustainable living
- Ethical choices and commitment to global citizenship

Responsible, Democratic Conservation...
We are a democratic association led by paid-up members, overseen by an elected management committee. The management committee consists of the officers: Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer and other elected members who manage under best practice, policy, procedure and finances according to AVCA's constitution and standing orders.
Management committee meetings are open to all paid-up members to attend and participate in planning and development of association activities.
Members are able to vote on issues at management committee meetings.
The association's fiscal year is from 1st April to 31st March and the annual report is published each year with the Association's accounts.
Management committee meetings are called at least four times a year, but presently because the association is new monthly meetings are commonplace. A diary of meetings is provided for members use on a separate Meetings & Minutes page.
AVCA documents are posted on this website as members wish association activities to be transparent to all interested parties.
Copies of the Association's constitution and standing orders as well as its policies and procedures are provided in pdf document format for viewing or download. The AVCA constitution has been approved by the membership and signed by the officers of the association.
