AVCA Awarded Environment Wales Grant towards their Forest Garden Project

Following the very generous grant from Welsh Government Local Environmental Quality, AVCA has been awarded further grant funding for the Forest Garden Project on the Fforchneol Allotment Society Site.

It was noticed that when we changed from the old web site to this new one - historical Annual Report and Accounts documents were not transferred.  This has now been done along with the current year.  Go to "Our Structure" > "Reports & Accounts" to view them in PDF format.

Annual General Meeting 2011

 The 2011 AGM will take place on Friday 8th July at 8pm at Queen Ti's Cafe in Cwmaman.  We look forward to seeing you.  Refreshments will be served.

Fforchneol Allotment Project Started with WAG LEQ & KWT GRANTS!

 AVCA has started its innovative Fforchneol Allotment Project aimed at creating an Edible Forest Garden and sustainable building to be used as a education point/visitor centre.  AVCA is working hand in hand with the Fforchneol Allotment Society to regenerate the run down 90 plot allotment site.  AVCA has rented 23 plots for a minimum of 10 years to progress its project.

More Tidy Wales Success for AVCA

AVCA were once again up for another Tidy Wales award this year, and were again successful, this time winning the Dwr Cymru Community Award for the "Biggest Keep Wales Tidy Week Event" at the Tidy Wales Awards ceremony.

With just over a 12 months since AVCA was founded, the Association has achieved some fantastic successes in its inaugural year. To celebrate these achievements, the Winter Newsletter celebrates AVCA's recent success at the Tidy Wales awards. Also included is the latest on the River Aman Cleanup Project a diary of events and information on local waste disposal services.

Double-Win for AVCA at Tidy Wales Awards!

AVCA had great success in the 2008 Tidy Wales Awards, winning in the River Improvement category for the great clearance work down the length of the River Aman. But that wasn't all, as AVCA also scooped the 2008/2009 Overall Winner for the Tiday Wales awards, beating off some tough competition from across Wales.
